Mission

Our mission is to contribute to solving the rental housing shortage in the Netherlands and to further improving the sustainability of the rental housing market. We strive to make living in comfortable homes possible, so people can be happy and build their futures. But we don't stop there.

Using the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), we investigated how Build can contribute to a sustainable society by preventing negative environmental and social impacts. Build has incorporated the following SDGs into its sustainability and ESG (Environment, Social, and Governance) vision:

Our vision for sustainability, our objectives, and our measures are laid out in our ESG and sustainability policy. Our policy is built on our Build sustainability pillars, which together cover virtually all the topics we consider important for sustainable and responsible business practices.

At Build, we want to make a positive contribution to people, the environment, and society with our products and services. We distinguish between:

By providing financing at attractive interest rates, we make affordable housing possible for more people. We also offer financing for (sustainable) renovations and transformations.

Build aims to motivate and assist real estate developers in making existing buildings more sustainable by conducting a sustainability scan.

Build collaborates with various partners, including investors, real estate investors, shareholders, and advisors. We continually strive to balance these different interests. Financial and economic results are important, as are social and environmental impacts. We also consider the interests of indirect stakeholders, such as tenants, and incorporate them into our policies.

Sound governance and a robust internal organization are also part of sustainable and responsible entrepreneurship: transparency, accountability, and fairness are the foundations.

We strive for a diverse and balanced workforce. Providing a safe and enjoyable work environment is a key priority. The involvement and knowledge of all Build employees are also crucial. Build invests in creating a shared (sustainability) goal, making it clear to every employee how they can contribute. ESG and sustainability must be embraced throughout the organization. We ensure that everyone is on the same page, for example, through periodic surveys and sustainability sessions.

Involvement and communication with external partners are also important. We regularly report to our shareholders, but we also discuss Build's current status internally. We strive to standardize reporting as much as possible and also explore opportunities to join certifications or benchmarks in the market.

At Build, we understand that successful real estate investing starts with the right financing. We offer real estate financing from €500,000 to €15 million for affordable residential rental properties, including houses, apartments, and commercial properties.
