Mission

Our mission is to help address the housing shortage in the Netherlands and contribute to the further sustainability of the rental housing market. We strive to make comfortable living accessible so that people can be happy and build their future. But we don’t stop there.

On the basis of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations, we investigated how Build can contribute to a sustainable society, by preventing negative consequences for the environment and society. Build has incorporated the following SDGs into its vision of sustainability and ESG (Environment, Social and Governance)

Our vision on sustainability and our objectives and measures are laid down in our ESG and sustainability policy. Our policy is built on our Buildeniability pillars, which together cover almost all subjects that we find important for sustainable and responsible entrepreneurship.

As a Build, with our product and our services, we want to make a positive contribution to people, the environment and society. We make a distinction between:

a social contribution:

contributing to broad prosperity
contributions to resolving the housing shortage
A sustainability contribution:

contributing to the sustainability of existing real estate
contributions to responsible new construction
by providing financing at an attractive interest, we make affordable living possible for more people. We also offer the possibility to take out financing for (sustainable) renovation and transformation.

Build wants to motivate real estate entrepreneurs and help to make existing construction more sustainable, based on a sustainability scan.

Build has to deal with various cooperation partners, including investors, real estate investors, shareholders and advisers. We are constantly looking for the balance between the different interests. Financial economic results are important, as well as the social contribution and the environmental aspect. We also keep an eye on the interests of indirect parties involved, such as the tenants, and we include them in our policy.

Thorough management and a solid internal organization are also part of sustainable and responsible entrepreneurship: transparency, responsibility and justice are the starting points.

We strive for a diverse and balanced workforce. Offering a safe working environment, in which people enjoy working is an important spearhead. The involvement and knowledge of all Build employees are also of great importance. Build invests in creating a common (sustainability) objective, where it is clear to every employee how he or she can contribute. ESG and sustainability must be worn throughout the organization. We ensure, for example through periodic research and sustainability sessions, that all noses are in the same direction.

In addition, involvement and communication towards cooperation partners outside the organization is also important. We regularly report to our shareholders, but we also discuss internally how we are doing with Build. We strive to standardize reports as much as possible and also investigate the possibilities to join certifications or benchmarks from the market.

At Build, we understand that successful real estate investment starts with the right financing. We offer real estate financing from €500,000 to €15 million for leased residential properties in the affordable rental segment, including houses, apartments, and commercial real estate.
