How Build originated

Build was established in 2020 by three seasoned professionals with extensive experience in both the financial sector and the real estate market. “We observed that financing real estate through major banks was becoming increasingly challenging due to growing regulatory pressure, rising capital requirements, and the push for greater efficiency. At the same time, institutional investors were more actively seeking returns, and asset managers were responding to persistently low—and in some cases, even negative—interest rates.”

“From the consumer’s perspective, owning a home is a basic need. Unfortunately, this is not within reach for everyone. At the same time, the supply of affordable rental housing has been steadily declining—a development that’s far from ideal in a socially-minded country like the Netherlands.” By offering real estate financing ranging from €0.5 to €15 million for leased residential properties in the social and mid-market segments, Build is helping to shift the tide. Ultimately, Build contributes to making sustainable, affordable housing accessible to more people.
