How long have you been working for Build Finance?
“As one of the founders, I have been involved with Build Finance since the start. There were a few reasons why we wanted to start a new company. First of all, as a former consultant in the kitchen of many companies, I never cooked anything for yourself. Secondly, the success in consultancy often depends on the people. What do you like about your work?
“It all started with a business plan in PowerPoint and now we are building a serious company from Scratch. Entrepreneurship consists of many facets and that makes it interesting. What characteristics come in handy here?
“Flexibility. You have to be able to switch quickly between different topics and levels. Prioritizing is also important, because there are only so many hours in a week. What are you doing right now?
“We are currently in the middle of an audit for our ISAE 3402 declaration. For this we have to provide many documents to our accountant. At Build Finance we have our own control activities spread over the year. Now, for example, I am working with my colleague Bart Silven to the mortgage certificates, which are largely automated, we are also busy with the review of the year. Many CCCs; discuss and approve of our credit committee.
What do you get energy from or are you proud of?
“I am extremely proud of the ISAE 3402 declaration, which we received after an audit without findings. That is really a milestone for me, because it was a considerable exercise for our entire team to get this done. This statement proves that we are demonstrably in control when it comes to our processes.
